What we believe
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons who are co-equals: the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God.
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We further believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, therefore, both the old and new testaments are relevant and beneficial for Christian living today.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.
We believe it is important to uphold the Scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism by immersion and the regular taking of the Lord’s Supper. We do not believe that either of these practices is necessary for salvation, but that they serve as a outward demonstration of an inward change and living faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.
We believe in the gifts of the spirit as recorded in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 "The Holy Spirit is given to each of us in a special way. That is for the good of all. To some people the Spirit gives a message of wisdom. To others the same Spirit gives a message of knowledge. To others the same Spirit gives faith. To others that one Spirit gives gifts of healing. To others he gives the power to do miracles. To others he gives the ability to prophesy. To others he gives the ability to tell the spirits apart. To others he gives the ability to speak in different kinds of languages they had not known before. And to still others he gives the ability to explain what was said in those languages. All the gifts are produced by one and the same Spirit. He gives gifts to each person, just as he decides.
